Women’s Tennis Team Wins Big ASC Road Match

Longview, Texas-The women's tennis team won a big road match against LeTourneau University 5-4 Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference play.

The win improves Ozarks conference record to 2-1 and its overall record to 3-8. Ozarks won at No. 2 doubles as Olivia Allard and Imani Doyle posted a 9-8 win. Ozarks also took No. 3 doubles 8-2 behind the play of Amy Wallace and Maggie Johnson. The Eagles lost at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles, but won at the remaining positions. Allard won at No. 4 6-0, 6-0. Johnson fought to a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 5 and Wallace won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6. LeTourneau falls to 4-11 overall and 0-5 in the ASC.

The nationally-ranked Texas-Tyler women's tennis team posted a 9-0 win over the Eagles earlier in the day.

Ozarks dropped all three doubles matches 8-0. Texas-Tyler (17-2, 4-0 ASC) then secured wins at each singles position. Paige Myers battled at the No. 2 singles spot, dropping her match 6-2, 6-3.

Ozarks will travel to Shreveport, La., to face Centenary College and East Texas Baptist April 15.
