Women’s Tennis Team Wraps Up Texas Trip

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women's tennis team went to Texas for three matches in the Dallas area over the weekend.

The Eagles opened with a 7-2 loss against Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday and then took a narrow 5-4 setback later in the afternoon. The Eagles opened conference play with a 9-0 loss against UT Dallas.
     
Against Mary Hardin-Baylor, Angelica Garcia and Kaitlin Gutierrez posted a tough 9-8 (9-7) win at No. 1 doubles. Skylar Frazier came back with a 5-7, 6-1, 10-5 at No. 6 singles. 

Against Austin College, the Eagles did not record a doubles win. However, at No. 1 singles, Alexis Rogers won 7-5, 6-2. Gutierrez won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. At the No. 3 position, Anna Ryan won 3-6, 6-2, 10-5. Lea Terrell won 7-6, 6-1 at no. 5 singles. 

Against UT Dallas, the Eagles had a tough match to open conference play.
