Women's Tennis Team Clinches Playoff Spot

The women's tennis team won 6-3 against Belhaven to clinch a spot in the playoffs.

Clarksville, Ark.-The women's tennis team posted a big 7-2 win over American Southwest Conference opponent Belhaven University to clinch a spot in the ASC Championship Tournament. 
     
The win allows the Eagles to advance to the post-season and play Hardin-Simmons University May 6 in Abilene, Texas.
     
Against Belhaven, the Eagles picked up two doubles win to start the day. At the No. 1 spot, Angelica Garcia and Kaitlin Gutierrez defeated Macey Lea and Emilie Ferguson 8-3. At the No. 3 spot, Skylar Frazier and Lea Terrell won by forfeit. In No. 1 singles, Angelica Garcia defeated Macey Lea 6-3, 6-2. At the No. 3 spot, Kaitlin Gutierrez defeated Khin Lwin 6-3, 6-0.  At the No. 4 spot, Anna Ryan defeated Kerany Un 6-0, 6-0 and at the No. 5 spot, Skylar Frazier defeated Emilie Ferguson 6-0, 6-0. Lea Terrell won by forfeit at No. 6 singles.
