Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks senior tennis player Angelica Garcia was named the American Southwest Conference Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year for women's tennis.
Garcia, from Amarillo, Texas, shared the honor with Mimi Samdi from LeTourneau University and Elisa Kendall from East Texas Baptist University.
Garcia played No. 1 singles and doubles throughout the season for the Eagles. Garcia is a two-time member of the ITA Scholar-Athlete Team and is a member of the ASC All-Academic Team. A sociology major, she made the Dean's List and President's List during her career at Ozarks. She has also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
