Clarksville, Ark.-The Hendrix College women's cross country team narrowly defeated the Eagles at the Arkansas D-III Championships Wednesday.
The Hendrix women escaped with a score of 27. Ozarks posted 28 points to place second. Hendrix College's Makenzie Gearin won the 3-mile race with a time of 19:32.0. Hannah Smith was the top finisher for Ozarks with a time of 19:55.3, placing her third overall. Madison Sherrer (20:32.9), Stephanie Alderson (20:36.6), Jacquelyn Vaden (22:30.7), Denise Garcia (23:38.8) and Monica Flores (29:05.5) rounded out Ozarks.
Ozarks will travel to Austin, Texas, to compete in the American Southwest Conference Championships October 29.
