Cross Country Teams Honored For Academic Success

The University of the Ozarks women's and men's cross country teams earned the team academic award from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Clarksville, Ark.- The University of the Ozarks women's and men's cross country teams earned the team academic award from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

It is the third straight year for the women's program. The men's program last achieved the award in 2011. Under first-year Head Coach Heidi Pinkerton, the women's team posted a group cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.22. The men's team compiled a 3.23 GPA.

To be honored as an All-Academic Cross Country Team, programs must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet and must also have a minimum team GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale.
