Eagles End Season With Loss Against McMurry

Eagles End Season With Loss Against McMurry

Abilene, Texas- The Eagles season ended Saturday with a 10-2 loss against McMurry University on the road.

The War Hawks' offense displayed consistency early in the game by scoring in four straight innings to open the contest. Ozarks did have a 2-0 lead in the top of the first behind a Patrick Clifford homer.  McMurry, however, answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the frame. McMurry (20-20, 15-10 ASC) took the lead for good with a run in the second, and then added two more in the third. But it was the fourth inning that put the game out of reach for Ozarks. The War Hawks recorded six hits and scored five times in the frame and Ozarks was unable to recover.

Keaton Ramsey (1-3) took the loss as the starter. He threw two and one-third innings. Clifford finished the day 3-for-4 with two RBI. Ozarks ends the 2016 season with a 14-26 overall record and a 5-19 mark in American Southwest Conference play under first-year head coach Aaron Gentry.
