ASC Statement On Competition

47 University of the Ozarks student-athletes were named to the 2019-2020 winter/spring American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team, it was announced by the league office Tuesday (June 9). 

Richardson, Texas-American Southwest Conference Commissioner Amy Carlton has issued the following statement on athletic competition. 

"In light of rapidly changing information about the COVID-19 health threat and fluid events, the American Southwest Conference has suspended athletics competition scheduled between Conference member institutions for the March 13-14-15 weekend. The ASC Council of Presidents, following discussion with their respective Directors of Athletics and other campus and athletics administrators, will make a determination on the status of Conference athletics-related activities early next week."

The Eagles had one wrestler in the NCAA III National Championships this weekend, but the entire championships were canceled. The Eagles home schedule this weekend included baseball and tennis events. Competition on the road included clay target and track. All events were canceled.

NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled the Division I men's and women's 2020 basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships today.
