Cheerleading Teams Wins Another Championship

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's and women's competitive cheerleading team won first place in their division at the Hot Springs JamFest Nationals March 21-22.

The event in Hot Springs capped a spectacular season for the team's first official year. Under first-year head coach Tori Cox, the squad earned first place honors in all four events it participated in. At Hot Springs, the team brought home another National Championship.

"This was their best performance of the year, with raw scores in the 90's for both days, and finishing in the 89's and 88's after deductions," said Cox. "This was the most critical judging they have had all year."

The squad fell for short of its goal as Grand Champions, but were up against tough competition being grouped with all level 4 and level 5 teams that competed.

Cox will now be hosting open gyms throughout the month of April and team tryouts are May 1-3 on campus.
