
Clarksville, Ark.-The Texas-Dallas men remained unbeaten in American Southwest Conference play after opening up a close game early in the second half and earning a 84-63 win against the U of O men's basketball team Monday.
U of O senior guard Ricky Allen scored 26 points, including 18 in the first half, to keep the Eagles (5-10, 3-9 ASC) in the contest. Allen was nearly unstoppable drilling three three-pointers in the first half, including one with 8:08 remaining to pull Ozarks within 25-20. Josh Clark hit a shot with 3:16 left in the half to trim the deficit to 34-30, but Texas-Dallas (13-1, 11-0 ASC) went on a 6-0 run to gain a 40-30 advantage. Texas-Dallas hit 57 percent of its shots in the first half, including 5-of-11 from the three-point line.
Trailing 47-36 early in the second half, Ozarks allowed the Comets to move ahead 58-38 at the 14:20 mark. Texas-Dallas then controlled the rest of the game and maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the way. Texas-Dallas owned a 40-21 rebound advantage in the game and hit 57 percent of its shots from the field.
Kelby Robinson added 10 points for Ozarks.
Ozarks will begin a four-game road trip beginning January 23 against Texas-Dallas.
