Texas-Dallas Men Cap Week With Second Win Over The Eagles

Richardson, Texas-The Texas-Dallas men shot 66 percent from the field in the second half to secure a 97-76 win over the Eagles Thursday in American Southwest Conference play.
    
It was the second win of the week for the Comets (14-1, 12-0 ASC) over the Eagles (5-11, 3-10 ASC). Texas-Dallas handed Ozarks a 84-63 setback Monday in Clarksville. Thursday night in Richardson, Texas, the Comets hit nearly 60 percent of their shots from the field and held Ozarks to a 37 percent shooting clip. The Comets also went to the free throw line 32 times, while Ozarks attempted just 18. Texas-Dallas led 41-30 at intermission, and then took control of the game about three minutes into the second half holding a 52-32 advantage. The Comets later held a 81-57 lead with 7:14 remaining in the game.

Ricky Allen hit a trio of three-pointers to score 17 points. Ted Beard IV posted a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Kelby Robinson added 13 points.
    
Ozarks will travel to Abilene, Texas, to face Hardin-Simmons University January 25.
