Concordia Men Top Eagles 93-82

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles started the game on a 9-0 run only to have Concordia University Texas hold a 56-45 halftime lead en route to a 93-82 win Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.

Ozarks (5-8, 3-7 ASC) opened the game hitting four straight field goals to lead 9-0. But the Tornados (8-5, 4-4 ASC) took a 21-20 advantage at the 9:29 mark of the half and never looked back. Concordia wouldn't relinquish its lead the rest of the game. After trailing by double-digits in the second half, Ozarks did battle to within 60-59 behind a pair of Kelby Robinson shots. But Concordia would later build another double-digit lead to keep the Eagles from mounting a comeback.

Concordia shot 66 times from the floor and 35 times from the free throw line. Ozarks attempted 40 free throws attempts, while launching 55 total shots from the field.

The Eagles had five players reach double figures - Ted Beard IV (17), Josh Berard (17), Robinson (16), Jace Richardson (15) and Dylan Gray (10) – and played 12 players in the up-and-down contest.

Ozarks will host Central Baptist College January 13 and then have three straight conference road games.
