Hot Shooting Louisiana College Drops Eagles

Pineville, La.-Louisiana College hit eight three-pointers in the first half and then shot an impressive 65 percent from the floor in the second half to gain a 94-74 win over the Eagles in American Southwest Conference action Saturday.

Ozarks (6-9, 3-8 ASC) had four starters in double figures, but it didn't matter as the Wildcats were on fire throughout the contest. Louisiana College had four players hit at least one from long-range in the first half, led by Kevin Cottonham's four, to hold a 48-38 intermission advantage. The Wildcats then built a 15-point lead five minutes into the second half and Ozarks would never get within single digits in the final 15 minutes even though it made 50 percent of its shots.

Ted Beard IV led Ozarks with 22 points. Kelby Robinson had 20 points, and Jace Richardson added 16 points. Josh Berard finished with 11 points.

Ozarks will travel to Abilene, Texas, to face Hardin-Simmons University January 22.
