Hardin-Simmons Men Surge In Second Half For Win Over Eagles

Abilene, Texas- Hardin-Simmons improved to 10-1 in the American Southwest Conference this season with a 102-81 victory over the Eagles Thursday.
    
Ozarks (6-10, 3-9 ASC) trailed 43-35 at the half, but allowed 59 second half points to let the Cowboys (14-2, 10-1 ASC) surpass the century mark in scoring. The Eagles would take the lead early in the game before Hardin-Simmons established a 29-16 advantage with just under ten minutes to play. Ozarks fought back to climb within six points on three occasions only to have Hardin-Simmons respond with key shots of their own.

In the second half, Hardin-Simmons scored 15 points in the first six minutes of the game to hold a 58-45 lead. Ted Beard IV then scored five straight points to pull Ozarks within 60-50. However, the Cowboys reeled off a 10-2 run to quickly establish momentum with less than 12 minutes to play and cruised from there.

Dylan Gray and Jace Richardson each had 18 points to lead Ozarks.  

Ozarks will travel to Richardson, Texas, to face Texas-Dallas January 24.
