Berard, Richardson Post Double-Doubles To Lead Ozarks

Clarksville, Ark.-Josh Berard and Jace Richardson both posted double-doubles to power the Eagles past Champion Baptist College 94-62 Monday night in non-conference play.

Berard went 6-for-8 from the floor and hit all six of his free throw attempts to finish with 19 points. Berard also pulled down 11 rebounds. Richardson didn't miss from the field to score 17 points. Richardson dished out 10 assists to record his second straight double-double. Ben Grice hit three three-pointers and scored 17 points off the bench.

The Eagles (8-12) led 57-30 at halftime as Champion Baptist (2-15) didn't have an answer for Ozarks' well-rounded attack. Ozarks hit 62 percent from the field and made seven three-pointers in the first half. The Eagles outscored the Tigers 29-10 in the final ten minutes of the half. Grice would nail back-to-back three-pointers to put Ozarks in front 53-28 with less than three minutes to go.

The Eagles opened the second half with a 9-5 run behind a combined nine points from Richardson and Dylan Gray. The lead ballooned to 77-45 with a Berard shot at the 10:42 mark. Gray finished with 13 points, and Kelby Robinson and Ted Beard IV scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Ozarks will travel to Brownwood, Texas, to face Howard Payne University February 5 and then to Alpine, Texas, to face Sul Ross State February 7.
