Eagles First Half Deficit Too Much To Overcome

Belton, Texas-Mary Hardin-Baylor stormed out to a 45-21 first half lead en route to a 82-59 win over the Eagles in American Southwest Conference road play Saturday.

Despite the loss, Ozarks remains in the hunt for the final playoff spot. The Eagles are 4-15 in the ASC with one game left, while LeTourneau University is 3-15 with two games left. Ozarks will host Louisiana College February 19 in its final regular season game.

Against Mary Hardin-Baylor (16-7, 13-5 ASC), the Eagles (8-16, 4-15 ASC) made only five field goals in the first half to face a large intermission deficit. Meanwhile, the Crusaders hit 19-of-34 (55%) in the opening twenty minutes to take control of the contest. In the second half, Mary Hardin-Baylor held a 30-point lead at the 13:07 mark and Ozarks never recovered.

Kelby Robinson paced Ozarks with 17 points.
