Men’s Basketball Team Surpasses 100-Point Mark In Season-Opener

Clarksville, Ark.-The men's basketball team posted a 111-97 win over Southwestern Adventist in its season-opener Friday in the Rhema Bible College Classic.

Ozarks (1-0) was able to hold off a pesky Southwestern squad that trailed only 45-43 at halftime. The Eagles trailed by double digits at one point in the first half. Southwestern took a 58-53 lead early in the second half before Ozarks took control. The Eagles used a press defense to create a number of steals and easy baskets. With 12 minutes remaining, Josh Berard and company exploded to overwhelm Southwestern. Berard finished with 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead Ozarks. Southwestern did battle back, but Ozarks scored the final seven points to earn the victory.

Jace Richardson added 24 points, while Dylan Gray finished with 26 points. Josh Ferrell recorded seven steals. Ozarks hit 11-of-23 from the three-point line.

Ozarks will host Dallas Christian November 17 at 7:30 p.m.
