Eagles Move To 3-0 Behind Game-Winning Free Throw From Richardson

Nashville, Tenn.-Jace Richardson hit the game-winning free throw with 19 seconds left to push Ozarks past Welch College 84-83 in a wild come-from-behind win Monday night in non-conference play.

Ozarks (3-0) trailed by nine with four minutes left and as many as 15 with less than ten minutes remaining before the Eagles made a run using pressure defense to force turnovers. With less than 30 seconds left, Josh Ferrell would steal a ball and dish to Richardson, who made a shot and was fouled in the process. Richardson calmly sank the free throw to put Ozarks ahead by one point. Welch was able to get a shot off as the buzzer sounded, but it missed. Ozarks never held a lead until Richardson's free throw.

Ozarks trailed 48-33 at halftime despite a strong shooting effort from Ferrell. Ferrell would hit his first five shots of the game, all three-pointers to lead Ozarks.

Ferrell finished with a team-high 22 points behind six three-pointers. Josh Berard had 20 points and Dylan Gray hit four three-pointers in the win. Kelby Robinson posted a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Ozarks will host Crowley's Ridge December 1.
