Clarksville, Ark.-The Howard Payne University men's basketball team used a 35-20 halftime lead to pick up a 81-65 win Monday night in American Southwest Conference play.

Ozarks (5-3, 0-3 ASC) shot only 20 percent from the field in the first half and were outrebounded 60-34 in the game. Howard Payne (3-9, 1-3 ASC) would shoot 51 percent from the field in the second half to keep Ozarks from taking the lead. A three-pointer by Dylan Gray cut it to 44-33 with 14:08 left in the second half. The Eagles would cut it to 11 points again, but it was too late.

Josh Berard led the Eagles with 22 points. Kelby Robinson had 16 points and Jace Richardson had 12 points with ten assists.

Ozarks will travel to Abilene, Texas, to face McMurry University January 7 and Hardin-Simmons University January 9.
