Abilene, Texas-McMurry University outscored Ozarks 11-3 in the final three minutes and overcame a 36-point effort from Josh Berard to hand the Eagles a 81-73 setback Thursday night in Abilene, Texas.
Ozarks (5-4) held the lead for most of the second half, but McMurry (2-12) took the momentum in the final five minutes overcoming a four-point deficit. Ozarks shot 51 percent from the field in the first half, but still trailed 43-40 at intermission.
Berard went 13-of-24 from the field, including 4-of-10 from the three-point, in the game. Berard also went 6-of-7 from the free throw line. Jace Richardson had 14 points and Dylan Gray grabbed 11 rebounds. Ozarks' bench did not produce a point. McMurry snapped a ten-game losing streak with the win.
Ozarks will face Hardin-Simmons University January 9.
