Multi-Year Deal Inked With Under Armour

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks Department of Athletics has signed a multi-year deal with Under Armour to be the exclusive provider of its sports uniforms and travel gear beginning with the 2016-17 academic year, Athletics Director Jimmy Clark announced at a University brand roll out ceremony Friday, April 15.

The partnership with Under Armour, the Baltimore-based leader in performance apparel, footwear and equipment, marks the first exclusive and comprehensive all-sports partnership for Ozarks Athletics. The University will begin phasing out its apparel immediately. According to Clark, Under Armour is appealing for its quality product line, commitment to health and technology and its brand recognition with college-aged students.

"We are thrilled to partner with a globally known brand like Under Armour," said Clark. "They have a prominent and distinctive brand. Their innovative apparel will maximize our student-athletes' efforts in competition. It is a great opportunity for us because Under Armour resonates and connects with college-age students. And, we will be able to brand our teams under one umbrella. This is an exciting time for our University."

Under Armour was founded in 1996 by Kevin Plank when Plank made a moisture-wicking synthetic fabric tee-shirt. The expansion of Under Armour's product lines has put the company at the forefront of the performance apparel industry. Ozarks will work with BSN Sports as the local distributor and provider of Under Armour products.

Clark also unveiled a new Eagle logo for the athletic department at Friday's event. The logo will serve as the primary visual identity on Under Armour apparel.
