Eagles Hit 100 Point Plateau, Open ASC Play With Victory

Clarksville, Ark.-The men's basketball team scored more than 100 points for the second time this season and opened American Southwest Conference play with a big 104-92 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor Tuesday night.
    
Ozarks (3-0, 1-0 ASC) got 101 of its points from four starters, with Josh Berard hitting 36.  Berard fueled his point performance by making 12-of-22 from the field and 10-of-15 from the free throw line. He also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists. Jace Richardson followed with 25 points, while Pete Barber drilled three three-pointers and scored 19 points. Dylan Gray posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Gray hit 4-of-7 from the three-point line.

The Eagles controlled the game from the start, and never let Mary Hardin-Baylor (2-3, 0-1 ASC) take the lead. Ozarks went into halftime with a 42-34 advantage behind Berard's 14 points. Barber hit a three-pointer to open the second half, and then hit a jump shot to extend Ozarks' lead to 47-34. Berard later scored 10 straight points to provide a sizable advantage for the Eagles.

Mary Hardin-Baylor hit 14-of-35 from the three-point line in the game, but couldn't keep up with the fast-paced Eagles.

Ozarks will host Centenary College December 1.
