Comfort Inn and Suites Holiday Classic

A six-minute scoring drought cost the Eagles a chance at a win as Sewanee moved to 11-1 with a 84-70 victory Sunday in the Comfort Inn and Suites Holiday Classic. With Sewanee leading 65-56 at the 9:13 mark of the second half, the Eagles were unable to put any points on the board until the 4:10 mark. Sewanee scored 13 points during that span. The Eagles trailed 42-38 at the half and hung around early in the second half. But Sewanee had a solid shooting day, hitting 51 percent from the field, including 43 percent from the three-point line, and hit 22-of-27 from the free throw line. Meanwhile, the Eagles made 41 percent from the floor and 66 percent from the free throw line.
