LeTourneau Men Hit 20-of-21 Free Throws In Second Half Comeback

THE BASICS
Fueled by a 20-of-21 (95%) free throw performance in the second half, LeTourneau University overcame a 42-38 first half deficit to edge the Eagles 79-74 Saturday. The YellowJackets overcame a 14-point second half deficit and outscored the Eagles 41-32. The YellowJackets also hit 20-of-21 from the free throw line in the second half. The Eagles trailed 27-19 with less than nine minutes left in the first half, but went on a 23-11 run to close out the half. The Eagles would build a 14-point advantage at the 16:28 mark of the second half only to have LeTourneau storm back. The YellowJackets grinded away and eventually evened the game 62-62 with 8:23 remaining. Cory Wilhelm made a bucket to tie the game at 70-70 with 2:56 left. Nate West would hit a pair of free throws and drill a three-pointer and the Eagles never held the lead again. Jacobe Davis scored 17 points. Wilhelm pulled down 14 rebounds.

Cory Wilhelm continues to dominate the rebounding efforts for the Eagles. Wilhelm pulled down 14, his third straight double digit performance. Wilhelm is averaging 10.1 boards per game the last seven contests. He also posted a double-double with 12 points.
