THE BASIC
Clarksville, Ark. – The Matt Bolton era started with a win as the Eagles hit some clutch shots down the stretch to take a 73-68 season-opening win over Rhodes College Tuesday night. Josh Ukpe hit the go-ahead three-pointer with less than a minute to go and the Eagles then made four straight free throws to secure the game. A Tim Eldridge jump shot with 2:25 left in the game put the Eagles in front 66-62. Rhodes fought back to eventually take the lead. However, Ukpe's clutch three-pointer was the turning point as Rhodes couldn't recover. Grayson Nix was one of five Eagles in double figures in scoring. Nix led the team with 17 points behind three three-pointers.
