Tillar, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women's and men's clay target team had an outstanding week at the ACUI Eastern Super Shoot & USAS Qualifier in Tillar, Arkansas, as it finished as the high overall winner in International events and finished second overall in American events.
The Eagles topped University of Alabama to win the high overall standings in International events. The Eagles scored 939 to defeat the Crimson Tide (901). In the high overall standings for American events, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi had 1292 points, while Ozarks had 1274. There were 13 teams in American events. The ACUI Eastern Super Shoot & USAS Qualifier in Tillar was the final competition for the U of O team this semester. The Eagles will next compete in the University of the Ozarks shootout February 10.
In men's American Skeet, Mason Dobbs was the team's top finisher scoring a 94 for a top-ten finish. In women's American Skeet, Grace Brown scored an 88 to be the team's top finisher. That placed her sixth overall. Ozarks dominated men's American Trap placing five of the top-7. Charles Priddy and Dustin Robertson each scored a 94 to go to a shoot-off. Robertson hit 14 of 15 targets to win first place in the event. Brown won the women's American Trap with a score of 92. In men's International Skeet, Dobbs placed fourth overall with a score of 100. Brown won the women's International Skeet with a score of 80. Jeff Proctor won the International Bunker Trap in a shoot-off, after tying with a score of 106. John Wagner placed third with a score of 102. Brown was second in the women's International Bunker Trap with a score of 91. In men's Sporting Clays, Proctor had a top-ten finish with a score of 83. In women's Sporting Clays, Brown was fourth overall with a score of 66. In men's Super Sporting Clays, Dobbs was second overall with a score of 30. In women's Super Sporting Clays, Taylor Holland went into a shoot-off and finished second. She had a 20 going into the shoot-off.
In men's combined American events, Dobbs posted the highest score in the competitions with a 184. Proctor and Charles Priddy were third with 182. In women's combined American events, Brown was had the highest score with a 180. In men's combined American events and Sporting Clays, Proctor was third overall with a score of 264. In women's combined American events and Sporting Clays, Brown was second overall with a score of 246. In men's International events, Wagner was second overall with a score of 194. In women's International events, Brown had the highest overall score with 171.
