Clay Target Team Finishes Second At ACUI Eastern Super Shoot & USAS Qualifier; Three Qualify For Nationals

Ashton Huffstutlar won a number of events at the ACUI Eastern Super Shoot and USAS Qualifier.

Clarksville, Ark. – The University of the Ozarks women's and men's clay target team competed in the ACUI Eastern Super Shoot and USAS Qualifier over the weekend in Tillar and placed second overall.
    
Three individuals qualified for the International Shoot-Out in San Antonio by placing in the top-3 at the weekend competition. Jacob Tucker placed second in Bunker Trap, Mason Dobbs placed third in International Skeet and Summer Sanders placed third in International Skeet to qualify for national. Additionally, junior Ashton Huffstutlar won the HOA in combined American and Sporting Clays at the event, which was held November 15-18.

In American Skeet, Zane Arnold placed 14th overall with a score of 96 to finish the highest for Ozarks. Huffstutlar had the highest finish on the women's side placing seventh overall with a score of 92. In American Trap, Mason Malin won the event with a score of 99. Huffstutlar was again the team's top finisher with a score of 93 in American Trap. In International Skeet, Dobbs was third overall with a score of 106. Summer Sanders was the team's top finisher in International Skeet with a score of 80. In International Trap, Jacob Tucker placed second, the highest for Ozarks with a score of 102. In the women's division, Taylor Holland was the team's highest finisher (4th) with a score of 84. In men's sporting clays, Dobbs had the best finish for Ozarks placing tenth overall with a score of 91. Huffstutlar won the women's sporting clays event with a score of 89. In Super Sporting Clays, Dobbs was the team's top finisher with a score of 50 for second overall. Huffstutlar placed seventh overall with a score of 43 to finish as the team's top competitor in super sporting clays. In combined American events, Arnold placed 11th overall with a score of 189. Huffstutlar placed third in combined American events with a score of 185. In combined International events, Jeff Proctor was 12th overall with a score of 184. Huffstutlar was fourth overall with a score of 153 on the women's side. In combined American and Sporting events, Dobbs was 12th overall with a score of 321. Huffstutlar won the combined American and Sporting events in the women's division with a score of 317.

The Eagles next competition will be February 9 when it hosts the University of the Ozarks Shoot Out.
