Clay Target Team Finishes As Runner-Up At Wichita State University Shocker Classic

The Clay Target team finished as runner-up the Wichita State Classic.

Valley Center, Kansas -The women's and men's clay target team posted a runner-up finish and several individuals highlighted even more success at the Wichita State University Shocker Classic over the weekend.

As a team, the Eagles placed second, just behind Lindenwood University. The Eagles totaled 1432 at the event, while Lindenwood recorded 1442. In the men's events, the Eagles swept all three individual awards. Chance Welch won the trap competition (100). Keaton Little won the skeet competition (99) and Jacob Tucker won the sporting clays competition (95). Additionally, Charles Priddy finished third in trap (99). On the women's side, Shelby Skaggs placed second in trap (95), skeet (95) and sporting clays (89). Additionally, the Eagles had even more individual success. In class A skeet, Tucker was placed first. In class B skeet, Derek McKee placed first and Shon Hastings placed second. In class C skeet, Daniel Freiberg placed second. In class B women's skeet, Summer Sanders placed second and Taylor Holland placed third. In class A trap, Dustin Robertson placed first and Amos Scott placed second. In class B trap, Hastings placed second. In class C trap, Freiberg placed first and Christian Smith placed third. In women's class B skeet, Holland placed second.  

As a team, the Eagles were second in trap and sporting clays overall. In skeet, the Eagles placed third.

The Eagles will travel to Springfield, Missouri, to compete in the Drury University Shoot September 28-29.
