Eagles Compete In Illinois, Tucker Wins American Super Sporting Clays

Jacob Tucker won the American Super Sporting Clays event in Sparta.

Sparta, Illinois - The women's and men's clay target team followed their national championship run last weekend with another strong showing at the Central Midwest Conference Championships in Sparta, Illinois, October 15-17.

Jacob Tucker highlighted the three-day event by winning the men's American Super Sporting Clays competition. He scored 45 to top 160 shooters in the event to bring home the top score. Levi Prestidge scored 39 to place 20th in the event. In men's American Trap, Corbin Cooper placed 12th with a score of 99. Wyatt McCaghren was 25th overall with 98. Keaton Little was the team's top finisher in Sporting Clays scoring 72 to place 28th. Lane Klohn followed with 72 to place 31st. In men's doubles American Skeet, Cameron Ziarko placed 11th with a score of 47. John Wagner followed with 46 to place 24th. In men's doubles American Trap, Mason Malin placed 18th with a score of 48. Lane Ward placed 47th with a score of 46. 

In women's American Trap, Kyleigh Hepner scored 90 to place 27th overall. McKenna Little placed 53rd with a score of 58. In Super Sporting, Hepner was 26th with a score of 20 and Little was 35th with a score of 14. In Sporting Clays, Hepner was 31st with a score of 44. Little was 39th with a score of 36. In doubles American Skeet, Hepner was 21st with a score of 33. Little followed at 22nd with 33. In doubles American Trap, Hepner was third overall with a score of 47. Little was 31st with a score of 25. 

In combined American events and sporting clays, Lane Klohn had the highest score (170) for the Eagles to place 19thoverall. Hepner had the team's highest women's score with 134 to place 28th
     
The Eagles placed sixth as a team in American Trap, third in Super Sporting, fourth in Sporting Clays, fourth in doubles American Skeet and seventh in doubles American Trap.
     
In combined American events and Sporting Clays, the Eagles placed fifth as a team.
     
In the men's HOA, Tucker finished the highest for the Eagles placing 11th overall. His score total was 301. Malin was 22nd with a total of 296. In the women's HOA, Hepner was the team's highest finisher at 16th with a score of 234. Little was 25th with a score of 166.
      
Final team scores (HOA) have not been finalized yet. 21 teams competed in the event.
     
The Eagles have wrapped up the fall season and will now wait until the spring semester for their next competition.
