National Championship Ring Ceremony Planned For Clay Target Team

National Champion Clay Target Team displays trophies and belt buckles.

Clarksville, Ark.-The women's and men's clay target team will be honored Saturday, October 22, in a special ceremony for winning three national championships during the 2021-2022 season. 
     
The ceremony will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the River Valley Sportsman Club Shooting Range north of Clarksville. All fans are invited to attend.

Last October, the Eagles won the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) National Championship in International Skeet and International Trap/Bunker. Receiving championships rings for International Skeet will be coaches Lance Brown and Grace Brown, along with athletes Lane Klohn, Keaton Little, Wyatt McCaghren, John Wagner and Cameron Ziarko. Receiving championship rings for International Bunker/Trap are the coaches and athletes Corbin Cooper, Mason Malin, Jacob Tucker, Clayton Villines and Ziarko.

In March, the Eagles won the ACUI International Trap/Bunker National Championship. Receiving rings will be the coaches and athletes Cooper, Tucker and Ziarko. The entire team will receive customized belt buckles. Receiving buckles will be the coaches and athletes Cooper, Tinker Kinser, Klohn, Little, Malin, McCaghren, Levi Prestidge, Charles Priddy, Amos Scott, Moudy Stolz, Tucker, Villines, Lane Ward, Wagner, Coleman Wheeler and Ziarko.

"This will be a memorable day for our clay target athletes," said athletic director Jimmy Clark. "To win one national championship in a season is special, but to win three in a season is extraordinary. These athletes deserve this day for their incredible achievements. They have established one of the top teams in the country. We are thrilled with their success and the pride they have brought to our university."
