
Tyler, Texas- The Texas-Tyler men's soccer team scored a goal in each half to notch a 2-0 win over the Eagles Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.
The Patriots (6-2-1, 4-0-0 ASC) scored in the 12th minute on a penalty kick and went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage. Texas-Tyler would record four corner kicks in the first half, while Ozarks (5-4-2, 2-2-0 ASC) had three. The Patriots held a 8-5 shots advantage in the first 45 minutes of play.
The Eagles held a 8-2 shots advantage in the second half, but couldn't find the back of the net. The Patriots, however, scored in the 55th minute to move ahead 2-0. Ozarks forced Texas-Tyler goalkeeper John McGuffin to make four saves in the second half.
Ozarks will travel to Jackson, Mississippi, to face Belhaven October 15.
