Eagles Move To 3-0-0 Behind Second Half Surge

Clarksville, Ark.-The men's soccer overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit and got two goals from Bryce Young in the second half to secure a 3-1 win over Hendrix College September 4.

Ozarks moves to 3-0-0 on the season and will hit the road for four straight matches, starting with Greenville College in Illinois September 9.

Against Hendrix (0-2-0), the Eagles needed a lift in the second half, and Young provided just that. The junior forward scored in the 50th minute with a beautiful goal set up by Stewart Mena. Young beat three defenders and ripped it past Hendrix goalkeeper Josh Robbins. Young came back within the next minute to clean up a scramble for the ball in the box, and easily put another shot past Robbins. After trailing the entire first half, Ozarks had all the momentum and it showed. The Eagles outshot the Warriors 13-2 in the second half. Michael Luster provided an additional highlight late in the second half. Luster, who created a number of opportunities and delighted the fans with fancy footwork throughout the match, beat his defender dribbling to the right, and then ripped it past Robbins into the left corner of the net in the 87th minute.

Luis Mena recorded the win for Ozarks in goal.
