Brock Bernard Named ASC Defensive Player of the Week

Brock Bernard was named ASC Defensive Player of the Week.

Clarksville, Ark.- University of the Ozarks freshman defender Brock Bernard was named the American Southwest Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office.

Bernard, from Rockwall, Texas, guided the Eagles to a pair of conference shutouts with his strong play in the back. He skillfully defended by knocking away passes and holding top scorers without a goal as the Eagles defeated McMurry 1-0 and tied Hardin-Simmons 0-0 in double overtime. The 5-foot-11, 155-pound standout has started in all 11 matches and helped the Eagles to five shutouts on the season. He starred at Rockwall-Heath High School.

Bernard shared the honor with Dalton Lloyd from Mary Hardin-Baylor and Joshua Redding from Concordia University Texas.

Bernard and the Eagles will now hit the road for four consecutive road matches beginning with East Texas Baptist University on October 14.
