Men's Swim Team Tops McMurry University

The Eagles took fifth place at the Hendrix College Invite over the weekend.

Abilene, Texas-The University of the Ozarks men's swim team topped McMurry University 105-82 Saturday in a dual in Abilene, Texas.

In a combined score with the women, McMurry edged the Eagles 190-171. In the 200 medley relay, the team of Nicolas White, Michael Walkine, Josh Collins and Nicolai Van Zyl won the race with a time of  1:46.0. In the 1000 free, White swam a 11:18.83 to win the race. In the 200 free, Nicolas Dunsworth placed second with a time of 2:09.15. Daniel Lopez was third with a time of 2:22.03. Michael Vargas followed with a fourth-place finish swimming a 2:26.71. In the 50 free, Van Zyl won the race with a time of 24.02. Bailey Butler (27.94) and Stephen Eyma (37.08) were fourth and fifth, respectively. In the 200 IM, Collins was second with a time of 2:12.87. Collins won the 100 fly with a 56.38. Gustavo Almaraz was third with a time of 1:05.2. In the 100 free, Van Zyl was second with a time of 52.26. Walkine was third with a time of 54.68. Eyma was fifth with a time of 1:27.63. In the 100 back, Dunsworth was third with a time of 1:06.24. Butler was fourth with a time of 1:11.05. Vargas was fifth with a time of 1:14.23. In the 500 free, White was placed first with a time of 5:27.0. Almaraz was third with a time of 6:11.03. In the 100 breastroke, Walkine placed first with a time of 1:06.71. Lopez was fourth with a time of 1:21.05. The Eagles won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:47.30. The team consisted of Lopez, Almaraz, Dunsworth and Vargas.
