Austin College Edges Eagles In Swimming Dual

The Eagles just lost against Austin College 112-107.

Clarksville, Ark.-Austin College edged the Eagles 112-107 in a swimming dual Saturday at the Clarksville Aquatics Center. 

Jacob Jones and Josh Collins both broke program records during the meet. Jones set a new record in the 200 free swimming a 1:48.30, while Collins set a new mark in the 100 fly by swimming a 54.35. In total, the Eagles won seven races.

The Eagles placed second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:53.32. The relay consisted of Nicolas White, Nicolas Dunsworth, Gustavo Almaraz and Daniel Lopez. White won the one-mile free with a time of 19:01.03. Michael Vargas posted a time of 22:37.17 for fourth place. In the 200 free, Almaraz was fourth with a time of 2:13.28. Jaeden Miller was sixth with a time of 3:02.30. Collins won the 50 free with a time of 22.74. Nicolai Van Zyl placed second with a time of 23.48. Lopez was fifth with a time of 25.34. Dunsworth won the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.43. Michael Walkine was third with a time of 2:23.70 and Vargas was fourth with a time of 2:50.90. In the 100 fly, Almaraz was third with a time of 1:05.63. In the 100 free, Jones posted a first place finish swimming a 48.32. Van Zyl was third with a time of 51.46 and Lopez was fourth with a time of 57.54. In the 100 back, Vargas was third with a time of 1:11.32. In the 500 free, White placed second with a time of 5:35.32 and Miller was fourth with a time of 9:06.53. In the 100 breaststroke, Walkine was second with a time of 1:07.61 and Dunsworth was third with a time of 1:08.82. The Eagles won the 200 free relay posting a time of 1:31.99. The relay consisted of Walkine, Van Zyl, Collins and Jones.
