Eagles Remain In Fifth Place

Michael Vargas placed 8th in the one-meter diving competition.

Garland, Texas – The men's and swim and dive team remains in fifth place after day three at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The Eagles have 188 points.

The Eagles are chasing McMurry (213.5) for fourth. Ethan Spillers set a new program record in the 100 fly with a time of 52.19. Michael Vargas placed eighth in the one-meter dive with 240.55 and Daniel Sanderson placed ninth with 200.75 points. In the 400 IM, Nicolas White placed 16th with a time of 4:51.23. Tyler Hamrick swam a 4:58.00 in the prelims. Isaiah Dial swam a 58.63 in the prelims of the 100 fly. In the 100 breaststroke, Nicolai Van Zyl swam a 1:00.48 for ninth place. In the 100 back, Hamrick placed 14th with a time of 59.07, Vargas swam a 1:05.59 for 15th place and Tyler Young swam a 1:07.67 for 16th place. The Eagles placed fourth in the 400 medley relay swimming a 3:44.76.
