Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks swimmer Nicolai Van Zyl was named to the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Swim and Dive Academic All-District Team, it was announced this week.
     
Van Zyl, a native of Longview, Texas, is a senior biology major. Van Zyl owns three program records and has been on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll multiple times.
     
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
     
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, be a significant contributor to the team (having competed in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions), and be enrolled at the institution for at least 12 months.
