Eagles Edge Hardin-Simmons; Bass Comes Up Big

Richardson, Texas-The No. 16-ranked Eagles have now won six matches over a two-week span after edging Hardin-Simmons University 5-4 in American Southwest Conference play Thursday in Richardson, Texas.

Ozarks (6-1, 5-1 ASC) willed itself to a win behind an All-Conference type performance from No. 2 singles player Bishop Bass. Bass lost his first set, 7-5, but came back to win the second set 6-4. He then put away his opponent 6-4 to fuel Ozarks to its sixth straight victory. Bass also remains unbeaten with a 6-0 singles mark. The Eagles won at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, too. Freshman Tyler Keel won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 and Michael Skimbo won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6. Skimbo owns a 6-0 record in singles action this season. Bass and Todd Turner earned a 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles. Corey Dillard and Keel won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles.
    
Ozarks only blemish of the spring season came against Mississippi College, which won 5-4 February 22. Hardin-Simmons falls to 2-6 overall and 1-1 in the ASC.

Ozarks will play UT-Tyler and Sul Ross State in Tyler, Texas 22.
