No. 19 Texas-Tyler Men’s Tennis Team Takes Key ASC Win

Clarksville, Ark.-In a battle of two regionally-ranked men's tennis teams, Texas-Tyler came out on top 8-1 in a key American Southwest Conference match Thursday.
   
Texas-Tyler is ranked No. 6 in the ITA West region, while Ozarks is ranked No. 18. The Patriots are also ranked No. 19 in NCAA Division III.
    
The Patriots (14-4, 4-0 ASC) won all three doubles matches, but the Eagles (8-4, 1-1 ASC) nearly pulled off a win at No. 1. Bishop Bass and Todd Turner dropped their match to Chris Wootton and Frankie Fischer 9-8.
    
In singles play, Corey Dillard defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4. Bass and Trevor Scott were edged in the tie-breaker at No. 2 and No. 5.
    
Ozarks will host LeTourneau University Friday and East Texas Baptist Saturday. Saturday's match against East Texas Baptist will be "Senior Day." Six seniors will be honored prior to the match.
