Men’s Tennis Team Opens ASC Play With Loss

Clarksville, Ark.-The LeTourneau University men's tennis team took two doubles matches to fuel a 6-3 win over the Eagles in American Southwest Conference play Friday.

In doubles play, LeTourneau (5-7, 1-0 ASC) won at No. 2 (8-3) and edged Dillon Murray and Jacob Organ at No. 1 (8-6). Cole Lankford and Jonah Martinez won 8-5 at No. 3 doubles. From there, the YellowJackets posted narrow wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Spencer Turner won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. At the No. 6 position, Martinez netted a 7-6, 6-0 victory.

The Eagles are now 5-9 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

The Eagles will host nationally-ranked UT-Tyler Saturday, April 1.
