Eagles Post Close Loss Against Texas Wesleyan

Arlington, Texas-The men's tennis team was narrowly defeated by a score of 5-4 against Texas Wesleyan Friday afternoon at the Arlington Tennis Center.

In doubles play, Ozarks took a 2-1 lead. The number one pairing of Spencer Turner and Melle van Duijn won 9-8(11-9), and the number two pairing of Cole Lankford and Jonah Martinez won 9-8(7-3).

As for singles action, number three player Spencer Turner posted a 6-1, 7-6(4) victory. Number five player Reid Birch was victorious with a score of 6-2, 6-3. Number one player Melle van Duijn competed in a tight match, but was defeated in a third set tiebreaker (3-6, 7-5, 10-6).

The Eagles will play University of Arkansas-Fort Smith at home on March 14.
