Clarksville, Ark.-NCAA II UA-Fort Smith posted a 8-1 win over the Eagles Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play.
In No. 1 singles, Melle Van Duijn fell to Brady Kenyon 7-6, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Jonah Martinez fought to a 7-6 first set win, but dropped the match 7-6, 6-1, 10-2. The Lions opened the day by sweeping doubles action 3-0. Van Duijn and Reid Birch lost 9-7 at No. 1 doubles, while Bryce Johnson and Bryant Cason lost 8-5.
The Eagles will be back in action March 30 against NCAA I UA-Pine Bluff on the road.
