Eagles Dominate Hendrix College In Night Match

Cason and Johnson celebrate a 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles against Hendrix College.

Clarksville, Ark.-The men's tennis team hosted a night match at the new Alexander-Boreham Tennis Center Friday against Hendrix College and posted a dominating 9-0 win.

In doubles, the Eagles put on a strong performance as they swept all three matches. Melle Van Duijn and Jonah Martinez posted a 8-3 win at the No. 1 position. At the No. 2 position, Cole Lankford and Reid Birch netted a 8-2 win. Bryce Johnson and Bryant Cason had a 8-4 win at the No. 3 spot. In No. 1. singles, Melle Van Duijn defeated Luke Lefler 6-4, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Jonah Martinez took a 6-1, 6-3 win over Nathan Hudson. At No. 3, Bryce Johnson won 6-2, 6-3 against Henry Dana. At the No. 4 position, Cole Lankford posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Mohammad Ali. At No. 5 singles, Bryant Cason defeated Parker Work 6-2, 5-7, 10-5 and at No. 6 singles, John Chimpoulis won 6-4, 6-1 over Andrew Eveld.

The new Alexander-Boreham Tennis Center has eight courts with LED lighting and features PlaySight video technology allowing fans to watch the matches online and players to evaluate their play. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Saturday, October 27.

The Eagles will travel to Plano, Texas, for the Collin College Open October 12-13.
