The men's tennis team traveled to Abilene, Texas, over the weekend and went 1-2 against competition.
Hardin-Simmons University topped the Eagles (3-5) 9-0 on February 22.
The Eagles came back the next day to take a 7-2 win over Howard Payne University. Melle Van Duijn and Cole Lankford won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Bryce Johnson and Bryant Cason won 8-1 at No. 2 and Jonah Martinez won 8-1 at No. 3 to give the Eagles a sweep. Martinez topped his opponent 2-6, 6-3, 10-6 at No. 2 singles. Johnson won 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Walker Murray had a victory at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Harrison Harbin won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
Against McMurry on February 24, the Eagles were shutout 9-0.
The Eagles will host John Brown University and Texas Wesleyan March 8.
