Angleo Ito Tost at the ITA Southwest Regional.

Georgetown, Texas – Angleo Ito Tost led the University of the Ozarks men's tennis team at the ITA Southwest Regional and was one win away from earning All-American, losing in the singles final in Georgetown, Texas.

In the semi-finals Ito Tost beat Jordan Pitts from Trinity 6-3, 6-1 (who finished the previous season ranked 29th in NCAA III). Ito Tost advanced to the final of the Singles A draw, but lost to Cameron Kimball from Trinity University 6-4, 6-3. With a win against his fourth Trinity opponent, Ito Tost would have earned All-America status. Ito Tost's climb to the finals included wins over Nathan Schmidt from LeTourneau 6-4, 6-2, Cal Hunter from Trinity 6-3, 6-1, Hao Nguyen 7-6, 3-1 (ret) from Trinity and Hunter Bajoit from Southwestern University 6-1, 6-3. A win in the championship match would have given Ito Tost an automatic bid to the ITA Cup in Georgia next month.

Also in A singles, TJ Saniseng lost his opening match 6-2, 6-0 to Wilson Hamilton from Trinity University.

In B singles, Jonah Martinez won 3-6, 7-6 10-5 before dropping his next match 6-1, 6-0. Cole Lankford also won his match in B singles 6-3, 6-4, but then lost 6-1, 6-2.

Ito Tost and Lankford won their opening doubles match 8-0 in A doubles. The duo were then narrowly edged 8-7 (4) by Southwestern. Saniseng and Martinez dropped their opening match 8-5 in B doubles.

The Eagles will host John Brown University October 16.
