Angelo Ito Tost Receives ITA National Ranking

Angelo Ito Tost is ranked No. 17 in the ITA's singles ranking.

Clarksville, Ark.-For the first time in program history, the University of the Ozarks men's tennis team had a player nationally-ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Junior Angelo Ito Tost is ranked as the No. 17 singles player in NCAA Division III. The native of Brazil is also ranked No. 5 in the Oracle ITA West Region as a singles player. Ito Tost burst onto the scene at the fall Southwest ITA Regional where he was one win away from receiving an automatic bid to the ITA Cup. Ito Tost advanced to the singles finals of the ITA tournament, another program first. He is currently the only player from the American Southwest Conference to be ranked in singles.

"This is a reflection of his hard work, character and high level of play against tough competition in the fall," said head coach Ryan Spencer. "His results are an indicator of the exciting times ahead for our program. We are blessed with a great facility and a team full of dedicated student-athletes. We are looking forward to building upon this success for the upcoming spring season."

The next ITA rankings will be released in mid-January 2020.

The Eagles will open the spring season February 15 in Conway against John Brown University.
