Angelo Ito Tost Named ITA West Region Player To Watch

Angelo Ito Tost received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III West Region Player To Watch award, it was announced Wednesday (May 20) by the ITA.

Clarksville, Ark.-Angelo Ito Tost received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III West Region Player To Watch award, it was announced Wednesday (May 20) by the ITA.

Ito Tost, a Brazil native, was one of four regional winners. The national winners will be announced next Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. PDT during a special virtual awards ceremony. The awards ceremony can be viewed on the ITA's TwitterFacebook, and Youtube.

Ito Tost, who was recently named the University's co-Spring Athlete of the Year as a junior, finished the 2020 shortened spring season ranked as the No. 24 NCAA III singles player in the country. He was ranked the No. 5 player in the Region. In the Fall, he advanced to the Southwest ITA Fall Tournament Finals, and was one win from All-American status and an automatic bid to Nationals. His spring record against NCAA III opponents was 6-0.
