Clarksville, Ark.-Angelo Ito Tost received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III West Region Player To Watch award, it was announced Wednesday (May 20) by the ITA.
Ito Tost, a Brazil native, was one of four regional winners. The national winners will be announced next Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. PDT during a special virtual awards ceremony. The awards ceremony can be viewed on the ITA's Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube.
Ito Tost, who was recently named the University's co-Spring Athlete of the Year as a junior, finished the 2020 shortened spring season ranked as the No. 24 NCAA III singles player in the country. He was ranked the No. 5 player in the Region. In the Fall, he advanced to the Southwest ITA Fall Tournament Finals, and was one win from All-American status and an automatic bid to Nationals. His spring record against NCAA III opponents was 6-0.
