Four Earn All-Conference From Men’s Tennis Team

Freshman Kento Iwahara made the All-Conference Team and First Team All-East Division in singles (flight 2). Kao Lenkopane and Joshua Wilde made the All-Conference Team and First Team All-East Division in doubles (flight 3). Lenkopane was additionally named Second Team All-East in singles. Sergio Munoz was named Second All-East in singles (flight 5).

Clarksville, Ark.-Four University of the Ozarks men's tennis players were named to the All-Conference Team, it was announced by the American Southwest Conference Wednesday (April 26).

Freshman Kento Iwahara made the All-Conference Team and First Team All-East Division in singles (flight 2). Kao Lenkopane and Joshua Wilde made the All-Conference Team and First Team All-East Division in doubles (flight 3). Lenkopane was additionally named Second Team All-East in singles. Sergio Munoz was named Second Team All-East in singles (flight 5). 
     
Iwahara, from Fukuoka, Japan, posted the second-most wins at No. 2 singles in the conference with eight. He went undefeated in conference singles going 4-0, the most wins at No. 2 in the conference. He compiled a 9-6 overall record playing mostly No. 2 singles. His nine wins were the most on the team. In doubles, he posted four wins. He was named ASC Player of the Week once during the season.

Lenkopane, from Botswana, Africa, went 3-0, including a 2-0 conference record, at No. 3 doubles with Willde. Overall, Lenkopane had a 10-7 doubles record. His ten doubles wins were the most on the team. He was among the top conference winners at No. 4 singles posting a 7-3 record. He lost just once in conference play. Overall, he had eight singles wins. He was named ASC Player of the Week once during the season.

Wilde, from Jefferson City, Mo., went 3-0, including a 2-0 conference record, at No. 3 doubles with Lenkopane. Overall, he went 5-3 in doubles play. He had four wins at No. 4 singles. 

Munoz, from Madrid, Spain, was among the win leaders at the No. 5 position with six. He went 2-2 against conference opponents. Overall, he finished with a 7-8 singles record.

The Eagles qualified for the playoffs in 2023 under first-year coach Bishop Bass.
