Track Team Competes In UCA Open; Prepares For ASC Championships

Conway, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women's and men's track team competed in the University of Central Arkansas Open Saturday in Conway.

Hannah Smith ran a 21:44.21 in the women's 5000-meter finishing fifth. Stephanie Alderson ran the 1500-meter in 5:53.82 for 22nd place. Jacquelyn Vaden ran a 1:08.03 in the 400-meter for 16th place. Ozarks had three race in the 800-meter competition. Caitlyn Bell, Grasyn Langley and Stephanie Alderson all placed in the top-25. Bell posted a time of 2:45.53 for 19th place. Langley posted a 2:49.78 for 21st place and Alderson posted a 2:55.41 for 22nd place. Vaden competed in the 200-meter and placed 23rd overall with a time of 29.39.

In the men's 3000-meter steeple race, Jonathon Wood ran a 11:13.19 for sixth place. Jacob Williams and Michael Luster ran in the 100-meter race. Williams posted a time of 11.74 for 13th place. Luster ran a 12.17 for 23rd place. In the men's 800-meter, Wood ran a 2:12.89 for eighth place. Williams ran a 23.34 in the 200-meter to finish 17th and Luster ran a 23.56 for 19th place.

Ozarks will compete next weekend in the American Southwest Conference Championships in Abilene, Texas, April 21-22.
