Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks freshman Michael Harris was named the American Southwest Conference Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Harris, a native of Elkins, Ark., posted the fastest mile time in the American Southwest Conference this season after running a 4:34.04 at the Pittsburg State Invitational in Pittsburg, Kansas, January 27. His time is the 23rd-fastest in the South/Southeast Region (NCAA III). Harris is also a standout cross country runner having earned the conference Runner of the Week honor four times last semester.

Ozarks will travel to Joplin, Mo., to compete in the Missouri Southern State University Invitational February 2-3.
